Our Story
Treasured Troops was recently founded by Sydney Corns in 2020, with the goal of providing help to U.S. Veterans and Active Duty Service Members, who may be struggling as a result of an injury or illness related to their service. There are currently over 19 million U.S. Veterans, as of a 2020 projection by the Veterans Affairs Organization. Also, as of 2019, 4.7 million veterans of the 18.8 million veterans had a service-connected disability, this is nearly a quarter of all veterans. With this in mind, there is a huge need to help these brave men and women. That is why Treasured Troops was founded and we are completely dedicated to improving our veterans and active duty service members lives, in an effort to show our appreciation for their ultimate sacrifice.
Our Mission
The purpose of this organization shall be to provide financial assistance to U.S. Veterans and Active Duty Service Members, in regards to out-of-pocket medical expenses and any other associated expenses that may be incurred as a result of an injury or illness. Also, to assist and connect the recipients with Veteran’s Affairs, as well as other useful organizations and services.
Meet The Founder
Treasured Troops CEO and Founder, Sydney Corns, is a 20 year-old college student who has always felt an inner desire to help others and has a passion and great respect for veterans and the men and women of the U.S. armed forces. She began work back in 2016 after volunteering with multiple veteran-centered organizations. In particular, she went on the Southeast Florida Honor Flight with a Vietnam Veteran, and the experience is described as the most fulfilling and memorable day in her life. After going on the honor flight, Sydney felt a need to do more for these brave men and women and decided to pursue the option of beginning her own nonprofit, which is now Treasured Troops.
Meet The Co-Founder
Sydney’s father, Dan Corns, is the Co-Founder of Treasured Troops. He has tremendously inspired Sydney along the way and helped create this organization from the ground up.
